Posted on: August 26th, 2009 August Update

It’s been a while since we updated everyone. We’ve been busy writing tons of treatments and doing some jobs. We finished up a commercial job for Children’s Hospital, shot a video for The Letter Black (Tooth & Nail Records), and just shot a short film with our good friends Samm and Luke from Mothlight Creative. The shoot went great and we’re very excited to dig into the post work on this project.

The letter black shoot went great. We’re very excited about the footage and can’t wait to dig into the post. We had some fun complications with the elevator in the facility and our wonderful PA, Matt, got stuck in the elevator for about two hours. You can check out some production photos here.

In other news, the Owl City album and video is still doing very well. Last week the video was AOL’s Music Video of the Day and has been put into rotation at Much Music on their MuchMoreMusic show. Congrats to Adam on the success!

Owl City ‘Fireflies’ Video Is A-frikin-dorable

http://blogs.nypost.com/popwrap/archives/2009/08/owl_city_firefl.html

Over three years ago, Owl City, known by pals as Adam Young, ignited a musical fire deep within the caverns of his parents’ basement. With his own small synths and keyboards, he has brought to life music that industry professionals only dream about.

Now, having a cozy home at Universal Republic Records, Adam has birthed his first major label album entitled “Ocean Eyes.” When asked about the experience of writing the record alone he simply says, “I have a lot of landscape paintings to look at; lots of ethereal, dreamy nature photography. Having that stuff around really creeps in subconsciously to impact the music.”

The video for his first single, “Fireflies,” paints the imagination Owl City seemed to envision while recording. Take a look below and get ready to feel all gooey inside. I totally wish I had a button that said “Magic.”
